Environmental optimisation of natural gas fired engines - main report

publikation

Main report, oktober 2010
Torben Kvist, DGC

Se delrapporten:

Adjustments leading to lower NOx emissions normally lead to increased emissions of unburned hydrocarbons (UHC) and CO. This means that often engine adjustment is a trade-off between NOx and other emissions. The engines meet the demands given by environmental regulations, but that does not mean that the engines are adjusted to obtain the lowest environmental impact.

The overall aim of the project has been to assess to which extent it is possible to reduce the emissions by adjusting the different gas fired engines examined and to determine the cost of the damage caused by emissions from natural gas combustion. However, only health and climate effects are included.
